InReach MultiService Access Points (MAP) bring intelligence to the edge of the Colubris Intelligent MultiService System (CIMS), enabling smooth scalability while minimizing acquisition costs. Intelligent MAPs are integral to delivering multiple services because they enforce security and QoS policies associated with each service at the boundary between WLANs and wired networks.
InReach MAPs provide unmatched flexibility. Users can configure any model in the product line to operate in any of four operating modes: as an access point, a WLAN monitor, a Wireless Distribution System (WDS) bridge for wireless backhaul, or simultaneously as both an access point and a WDS bridge. InReach dual-radio models take flexibility one step further by supporting this configurability on a per-radio basis, making them the most versatile access points in the industry.
The InReach MAP family includes three models: the MAP-320, MAP-320R with single radios, and MAP-330 with dual radios. Each radio is independently configurable for a/b/g modes. The dual-radio InReach MAP-330 is the industry’s first a/b/g + a/b/g access point, giving network managers the flexibility to operate two channels in any combination of the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. Every InReach MAP features RADIUS client authentication and accounting, WPA2 security, WMM-certified QoS, and comprehensive SNMP, Web GUI, and CLI management interfaces.
InReach MAPs can deliver as many as 16 different WLAN services, each of which is segmented and independent, multiplying the flexibility and value of the infrastructure. Customers can deploy a range of services, including Guest/Public Internet Access, VoWLAN, and secure data. Each service is mapped to a unique SSID and MAC address (BSSID), enabling client devices to quickly identify and associate with the service they need and ensuring complete interoperability with third-party client devices
