Listing an item for Auction

To list your item for selling, click on the 'Start Selling' button at the top of the site. Then click on the 'Auction' button to reach the Auction Sell Form. Follow the steps mentioned below to fill up this form and list your item for Auction.

3.  Specify Auction Details
4.  Set Warranty & Guarantee Options
5.  Set Payment Preferences
6.  Set Shipment Option
7.  Select Duration
8.  Upload Image
9.  Enhance your listing




1. Select a Category


 

To sell an item on ClickBD, you need to choose an appropriate category to list your item in. This is very important since buyers looking for your product will directly go to the relevant category.  Tip: Search for item you are listing and observe which category they are listed in.
Example: If you are selling a Men's T-shirt, you may select "Clothing, Shoes and Accessories" in the dropdown.

2. Specify Item Details


 

Title:
Enter the title that you would like to give your item in the text box provided. Give a title that describes your item best. Try to include specifications such as brand name, model number etc. The idea is to make your title most self-explanatory and distinctive. Do not use web language (HTML) here.
Example: 'Panasonic Cordless phone with caller Id Model: PD90'

Description:
Provide a detailed, accurate and compelling description of your item. Remember to always think like you were the buyer of your item yourself and what questions would come to your mind.

Include all the answers in the description you provide! You have options to enter all the relevant features, Brand name, Specifications, Accessories, age and condition of the item, color, model no., physical specifications (size, height, weight etc.), based on the category you have selected to list your item in.

You may also upload additional images of your item, that will appear in the description section of your item.

What you can do with the HTML Editor?

Format Text:
To format text, select the text you have typed and choose a formatting option (font color, bold, italics etc.)
Cut Cut selected text
Copy Copy selected text
Paste Past text from clipboard
Bold Bold selected text
Italic Italic selected text
Underline Underline selected text
Justify Left Left justify selected text
Center Center justify selected text
Justify Right Right justify selected text
Ordered List Number selected lines

Forecolor Color selected text
  Style Change selected text to normal, Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.
  Font Change select text to show Arial, Verdana, Tahoma, etc fonts

Insert Images & Links:
Image
You can insert an image by either clicking on the "Image" button or by simply copying an image, which is in your browser window, and pasting it into the HTML Editor.
Link
To add a link, simply click on the "Link" button and type in the link and click on "ok".

Viewing and editing HTML:
In the HTML editor, you can preview as well as edit the HTML code. By default the editor is in the preview mode. If you are an advanced user of HTML and would like to insert tags like tables or images, click on the "View HTML Source" tab to write/paste your HTML code.

Note: The HTML editor functions only on Internet Explorer 6.0 and above.
If you are not comfortable using the HTML editor you can switch it off by clicking the link provided above and enter your description in the normal text area.

Quantity:
Enter the quantity of the item you are selling in the text box.

Condition:
Select the condition of your item - New, Secondhand (used) or Refurbished (reconditioned).

3. Specify Auction Details

 

Market Price (Tk.)
This is the amount at which the item currently sells in market.

Auction Start Price (Tk.)
This is the amount at which the auction starts and the first bidder can place a bid.

Bid Increment:
This is the amount by which each bid will increase. There are 2 types of Bid Increments that you can choose from:

Default Bid Increments: If you select this ClickBD will change the Bid Increment amount automatically depending on the Bid Increment slabs that are defined by us. For Reserve Price Auctions, the ClickBD Bid Increment is dependent on the Reserve Price and not the bid amount. The Bid Increment slabs are:

Tk. 500 to 2499.99 50

Tk. 100000 to 249999.99 2500
Tk. 250000 to 499999.99 5000
Tk. 500000 + 10000


Seller defined Bid Increments: If you would rather choose the Bid Increment yourself, enter your desired bid increment amount  in the text box.

Reserve Price:
This is the minimum price that you are willing to accept for the item. Enter the amount in the text box. You can leave the box to show zero '0' to indicate no reserve price for the amount.

4. Select Warranty & Guarantee Options


 

Warranty:
You may offer the buyer certain kinds of Warranties. This can be either a Dealer Warranty or Manufacturer's Warranty or a Replacement Warranty. Select the type of Warranty you are offering from the drop down. Mention any remarks that you may have on the Warranty in the text box provided. Offering Warranty is optional but recommended.

Guarantee:
Guarantee is typically a Replacement or Money-Back Guarantee, in which you would be required to replace the product or refund the money to the buyer in case there is a problem with the item, within a Guarantee period, specified by you. Select a Guarantee period (after receipt of item by the buyer) from the drop down. Mention any remarks that you may have on the Guarantee in the text box provided. Offering Guarantee is optional but recommended.

5. Set Payment Preferences


 

A Payment Method is the method by which you would like to receive payment from buyers, for the item you are selling.

Select from the different Payment Preferences provided on the page.

Your can accept:

Cheque Payment (CP)               Accept payments by cheque & deliver after cheque is cashed at your bank.

Money Order Payment (MOP)  Accept payments by Demand Draft / Pay Order / Money Order.

Credit Card Payment (CCP)      Accept Credit Card payments through VISA, Mastercard, AmericanExpress, and Discover card.

Pay In Person (PIP)                    Buyer will visit you in person to collect the item and make payment.

Cash On Delivery (COD)            Buyer pays cash when you make delivery in person or by currier service.

We recommend you offer all payment options to buyers.

6. Set Shipment Options


 

This is the amount that you may charge the buyers for delivering the item to them.

You can offer:
1. Local / Domestic Shipment: Offer shipping to the city you live in and within your country.
2. International Shipment: Offer shipping to international destinations.

Please specify any shipping condition in the text box provided.

Shipping Time / Remarks: You must be accurate in providing maximum shipping time for your item.

7. Select Duration


 

Listing Duration: Select the duration for which your item will be open to buyers on the site. You will only be able to select the listing duration (number of days). You will not be able to specify the end time. The durations are 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 14 days for auctions.

Automatic Relisting: This optional setting automatically relists your item so that you need not manually relist it yourself. You have the following choices for relisting your item:

  1. Relist what is Not Sold: The item will be relisted the next day with the quantity that has not been sold.
  2. Dont Relist: The item will not be relisted.
Note: If you select "Relist what is Not Sold", the number of items that are sold in the old listing will reduce the quantity in the new listing. If there are no more items remaining to be sold, the item will not be relisted.

8. Upload Image


Once you have submitted your new listing, you will have the chance to upload the item image.

Image is important since it gives the buyer a good idea of the item you are selling. Always include an image that depicts your item correctly.

To upload an image located on your PC:

  1. Click on the "Add Image" button
  2. Click on the "Browse" button and locate the image you want to use for your listing
  3. Click on the "Save" button to save the image to ClickBD's server

If the image of your item is on the Internet:
Save the image by right clicking on it and clicking on "Save Picture As" (for IE). You may then follow the above process to upload the image for your item.

Tip - You can search the Internet for item image using   Google, Yahoo, or MSN

Remember: Your item image should be less than 60 KB in size and JPEG (.jpeg, .jpg), GIF (.gif) or PNG (.png) format only.

9. Enhance Your Listing

 

ClickBD offers 'Special Listings' to certain sellers to help them increase visibility of their item on ClickBD! A listing fee is charged for certain Special Listing options.

There are several types of Special Listing options:

  • Home Page Featured Listing
  • Category Page Featured Listing
  • Priority Listing
  • Gallery Listing
  • Highlighted Listing
  • TigerClub Member Listing
