Horrible 4K HDR performance
Unfortunately when you setup the appletv 4k, it will automatically setup the best possible configuration for the HDMI output, in my case 4k HDR 4:2:2 - the problem is that it tries to upscale everything to 4k HDR which is a horrible idea mostly because content that is not HDR will look horrible! The only great performance is when playing 4K HDR content - besides that it looks horrible.
Apple should update the tvOS to autodetect if the content is HDR or not, for example, the default is 4k SDR, if the content is HDR it should auto switch to HDR.
Having HDR set all the time basically forces your tv to have maximum brightness all the time not only when you should really need it (HDR).
Save your money, buy the previous generation (1080p) and let your 4k HDR tv do the upscale for you - much better!
